Whether in spring, summer or in the golden autumn weather: hikers and all those wishing to enjoy hiking will find the ideal conditions in the unspoilt nature of the Zillergrund.
Never mind the weather… we go out in almost all weathers into the enchanting mountain world of the surrounding Nature Park, with guaranteed fun and nature aplenty.
The inclusive Alpine Lodge hiking package offers something for everyone: for mountaineers, hikers, runners, Nordic walkers and for families with children.

With over 1,000 kilometres of trails, the Zillertal offers a huge variety of hiking opportunities with walks at all altitudes. Hiking in the valley: in contrast to other Tyrolean valleys, the Zillertal barely rises and only in Mayrhofen does it branch into the four side valleys of the Zillergrund, Zemmgrund, Stillupgrund and Tuxertal. Beautiful themed walks and interesting nature trails invite large and small alike to the enjoy the natural surroundings. Hiking to huts: with 150 mountain huts serving food & drink you can walk from hut to hut in the Zillertal over lush green pastures, always with good views of the valley and the numerous 3000-metre peaks high above, a sporting challenge for peak baggers.
You can comfortably reach your ideal starting point for a hut or mountain tour by using one of the 11 lifts that run in summer in the Zillertal. Tip: the Zillertal Active Card offers one free round trip a day on the Zillertal summer lifts!
Running & Nordic Walking
With 64 marked running and Nordic walking trails with a total length of some 445 km, both beginners and top athletes can enjoy running through the unique natural landscape.
There is a long tradition of climbing in the Zillertal, with a wide range of opportunities for all climbing and bouldering fans. You can choose from a total of nine different vie ferrate, an indoor climbing wall in Aschau, a bouldering hall in Mayrhofen and an outdoor climbing tower in Gerlos. Guided climbing tours are also available.
High ropes courses
Climbing fun for the whole family is guaranteed on a visit to one of the Zillertal’s high ropes courses, whether in Kaltenbach, Gerlos or at the Skyline in Gerlosstein.
The Zillertal offers plenty of swimming fun, with six modern outdoor pools, the swimming lake in Schlitters, the amusement park in Aschau and the variety on offer at the Zillertal thermal baths. Tip: the Zillertal Active Card offers one free visit a day to one of the six outdoor pools!
For all those who cannot get enough adventure in the surrounding nature or for those who want try something new and different, the Zillertal also offers rafting and tubing, paragliding and hang gliding as well as canyoning!
