The Zillertal Alps Nature Park!
Free guided walks for our guests
Spend your summer holiday at the foot of the Zillertal Alps Nature Park. Public roads, helicopter flights and lift systems for tourists are banned in this high mountain park in the Austrian Tyrol. It has been a protected area since 1991. Previously known as the Zillertal Hauptkamm (main ridge), in 2001 it was awarded the status of “Nature Park”, an international category of protection. The park covers an area of 379 km² and extends from approx. 1000 metres to 3510 metres in altitude. Hiking through the entire area will take some seven days.
Rugged cliffs, glaciers & peaks
Eight mountain huts, numerous 3000-metre peaks with rugged cliffs and unique vegetation distinguish the high Alpine mountain scenery. Rare animal species also live in this natural landscape, existing here in harmony with hikers, mountain climbers and nature lovers for over 150 years.
