Getting to Mayrhofen in the Zillertal Valley by Public Transport

Mayrhofen is easily accessible by public transport—whether you're travelling from Germany, Italy, or arriving by plane. The final stop is always Mayrhofen station in the Zillertal Valley, conveniently located in the heart of the town.

From Germany by Train

There are direct train connections from many German cities to Jenbach (e.g. via Munich, Kufstein, or Innsbruck). In Jenbach, you transfer to the Zillertalbahn, a charming narrow-gauge railway that takes you directly to Mayrhofen in about 50 minutes.

From Italy by Train

From northern Italy, travel via the Brenner Pass toward Innsbruck. From there, take a regional or long-distance train to Jenbach. In Jenbach, change to the Zillertalbahn, which will take you directly to Mayrhofen.

From the airport, take a bus or taxi to Innsbruck main station. Then take a train to Jenbach, and from there, continue on the Zillertalbahn to Mayrhofen.

Salzburg Airport (SZG) – approx. 170 km away
From Salzburg Airport, take a bus or taxi to Salzburg main station. Then travel by train—usually with a change in Wörgl or Innsbruck—to Jenbach, and from there, continue on the Zillertalbahn to Mayrhofen.
